I’ve just today realized that I’ve never had a food-related Halloween costume. I once dressed my infant son as a pumpkin but I’ve always had scary costumes myself.
One year my brother was a marshmallow but it was a costume of convenience: he was five and just out of the hospital from having pneumonia so my mom dressed him in a fuzzy white ‘fun’ fur coat of hers and threw a white hat on him so that he could go out trick or treating without catching a chill. Most people thought he was a Russian czar but he didn’t mind; he was just glad to be allowed out of bed!

I’ve never worn a food-related costume, but my sister once went out as a grape. She wore all green and then pinned green balloons all over her body. It was a great costume, but she had to stand up all night.

I’m not much of a costume person, but I think if I were to wear a food-themed costume I’d velcro cookies to myself. That way if I got hungry…
I think other people would be glad if you wore cookies, too – I’d hang out close by, that’s for sure!

I’ve never dressed as anything food related either. I’m all about the pretty or sexy on Halloween … I see it as a good excuse for wearing ridiculously long false eyelashes and fishnets! 😉

It looks like food inspired costumes are becoming a craze in 2010. I think its a good switch from the scary type costumes. I am fan of carrot costumes myself.
